Sabbath Worship Experience | "Attached: Part 2"

April 13, 2024 • Pastor Jonathan Henderson

Last week we explored the science of how we attach to caregivers—first with our parents, later in our adult relationships, and eventually with God. We specifically focused on the “avoidant” attachment style. This week, however, we’ll be focused on the “anxious” attachment style. Whereas avoidants will avoid feelings and vulnerability out of fear of being rejected, anxious attachment will have you all in your feels, all the time. Does this sound more like you? Join us this week as we continue through the book of Ruth in search of the healthiest attachment style with others and with God.

Sabbath Worship Experience | "Attached: Part 1"

Attachment Theory is all the rage in relationship talks between couples, and between parents and children. But what could we learn about our individual attachment style that affects our way of perceiving and experiencing God? This Sabbath we begin a three-part series on the science of relationships, especially the one we have with God. What can we learn about ourselves to have a relationship with God that is authentic and flourishing. Join us for the series entitled “Attached.”

Sabbath Worship Experience | "New, Next, Now: Can't Take It With You?"

March 30, 2024 • Pastor Jonathan Henderson

“You can’t take it with you” is a commonly used phrase to encourage people to enjoy life, and not be concerned about what they do or don’t have—especially money—because once they're gone, they can't take it with them. Jesus appears to encourage this sentiment by telling us to “lay [our] treasures in heaven” instead of here on earth where they can be stolen or destroyed. But what if you could take it with you? Elisha seems to have cracked the code because for his greatest miracle, he does something that no living being had ever done before—literally! In fact, he wasn’t even alive to see the miracle. Have I piqued your curiosity? Join us on this special Resurrection Sabbath as we close out the Next | New | Now series with a shockingly unbelievable story that answers our deepest life and death questions.
