The righteous requirement of the law has been fulfilled in us through Christ’s atonement and we are not under condemnation. The body of death is passing away and the Spirit of God has taken residence within us and will also raise our mortal bodies to life. God’s magnificent plan to justify us through the death of Christ has not only saved us from His wrath, it’s also granted us adoption as children of God, fellow heirs with Christ through His suffering and glory.

Called According to His Purpose

God’s will is not thwarted by the evil plans and actions of men and spiritual forces. What He purposes will come to pass and those He foreknew and predestined to be His own, He calls, justifies, and glorifies, conforming them in to the image of Christ. We have died to the law of sin and death and we have been raised to new life in Christ through His death and resurrection yet we continue to experience the struggle between our desire to do what is right and our inability to carry it out. Our experience is part of the ‘already but not yet’ paradigm of the Kingdom of God: we still have one foot in the flesh but our mind is being renewed through the power of the Holy Spirit.
