Intro to "Journey to the Tangible Kingdom"

After his resurrection Jesus "showed up" among his disciples and set before them this mission—"As the Father has sent me, I am now sending you" (John 20:21). Father sent Jesus—mission accomplished. Jesus sends his church—mission in process. The way Jesus is sending us—his Church into the world is as an "incarnational community." What does that mean? What are the implications? It means living on mission together engaging the lives of our neighbors in ways that make God’s Kingdom of love and hope tangible. That's the adventure of following Jesus that we get to live. Welcome to the Journey. Over the course of this study you will be invited to explore, empowered to envision, and begin to enact the Tangible Kingdom lifestyle of incarnational living. This online curriculum is produced in five episodes. Each episode takes about 30-45 minutes (depending on your pace and depth of engagement with reflection and discussion). This format also leaves time for fellowship and prayer time together for those who are taking the Journey as a small group. Each episode is composed of three to four steps: 1. An introductory video message from George and Ken (click on the "Introduction" button on each episode, found under the main video and title). 2. A teaching video from our Tangible Kingdom guide Hugh Halter (main video viewed at the top of each episode). 3. Group discussion questions and personal reflection (see "Conversation" button found under the main video and title under each episode). 4. Next Steps: Experiments to test convictions and practices to further engage in the Journey. Specific episodes are labeled clearly. Just click and go. May our Lord be powerfully present as your Guide in the Journey.
