Both David (Psalm 11) and Solomon (Proverbs 9) agree 'Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.' Reverence, respect or honor is the type of fear they speak of and it is still the source of wisdom today. Jesus addressed the need for proper recognition and honor for God as not in conflict when a believer 'renders to Caesar' what is due... specifically, for services rendered.
