December 17, 2023 • Gregg Parris • Matthew 6:25–34, Isaiah 9:6, John 14:27, Psalm 91:11–12, Romans 8:31

Matthew 6:25-34

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

Don’t worry about your past

Don’t worry about the opinion of others.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

John 14:27

“Do not worry about your life.”

Matthew 6:25

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

Matthew 6:27

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”

Psalm 91:11-12

Don’t worry about growing old.

Worry is an achievement

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Romans 8: 31,37

Worry is a killer.

Worry is a sin.

Don’t worry about death.

Don’t worry about your enemies.

Don’t worry about what you are not.
