Reading: Zechariah 4:1-6

Devotional:

"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty." These words came to Zerubbabel when rebuilding the temple seemed impossible. The resources were insufficient, the opposition fierce, the workers discouraged. Yet God's message wasn't "try harder"—it was "rely on my Spirit.”

The lampstand vision showed that God's work happens through God's power, not human effort. The golden lampstand burned continuously, fed by olive oil flowing directly from the trees—no human intervention required. Our role is to remain connected to the source.

We don't have to fix everything or build the kingdom through sheer willpower. The Holy Spirit dwelling within provides creative capacity exactly where we are—wisdom when we lack understanding, strength when we're depleted, hope when circumstances seem hopeless.

This means we can step into renewal without overwhelming anxiety because the outcome doesn't depend solely on us. God assumes the responsibility for growth when we faithfully plant seeds. He doesn't ask us to make things grow; He asks us to sow, water, and trust.

Today, release one burden you've been carrying in your own strength. Maybe it's a struggling relationship, a draining ministry, or a personal transformation you're exhausting yourself pursuing. Invite the Spirit to work through your weakness instead.
