Our Study this week provides look at the key themes of Genesis 12-14 and the various decisions we each are faced with and God’s help in each hurdle, speedbump, or crossroad we may come to. We explore the Abrahamic covenant, God's promise to Abraham, and how these chapters illustrate God's election, mankind’s free will, and the biblical concept of trust, restoration, and blessings. Through this portion we see the importance of trusting and obeying God's Word, and lessons learned from Abraham's actions, such as his trip to Egypt during a famine and his disputes with Lot. As we journey with Abraham from the famine that led him to Egypt, his departure from Canaan to his rescue of his nephew Lot and worship of the Lord we are introduce to how choices reflect spiritual journey and growth within our lives.

The differentiation between Abraham and Lot's choices demonstrates the conflict between God's values and worldly desires. Our portion of Scripture highlights the importance of biblical values, community, and continual obedience to God's word, emphasizing the sanctification process and the role of faith in navigating life's challenges. We also touch upon how disputes should be handled Biblically, the importance of fellowship, and how God's wisdom surpasses human understanding in leading a righteous life. Additionally, we see the comparison between the kings of Salem and Sodom, highlighting the choice between relationship with God and His people and worldly standards of relationships and riches. Our study underscores the theme of sanctification and growth in Abraham's faith journey.
