What’s holding you back from fully following Jesus? This week, we looked at the story of the rich young ruler in Mark 10—a man who had everything, but walked away sad when Jesus asked for the one thing he wouldn’t surrender. Jesus, from His heart of genuine love towards us, exposes the things that we cling to (idols and self-reliance), so that we can cling to Him instead! Eternal life is a gift to be received, not a status to be earned. To receive it, we must surrender all of ourselves to Jesus. Jesus invites all of us to experience true life with Him that is far better than anything we try to hold onto in this world.
