Can you imagine Advent and Christmas without music? There is no other event or occasion that has more music created than the celebration of the birth of Christ. Next Sunday, December 22, is filled with music at Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to our 9am praise & worship service, the 11am worship is a service of Lessons and Carols, telling the story through scripture and music.

Music for your Christmas enjoyment continues with a 2:30pm afternoon concert in our Sanctuary (Sunday, December 22) with the New Century Saxophone Quartet. This quartet has been making music for over 30 years and includes our own Jarvis member, Michael Stephenson. New Century Saxophone Quartet has been privileged to perform throughout the large concert halls in the US and across the world. This performance at Jarvis is free admission, please come and enjoy the music of Christmas!

Angel Tree MInistry with the Methodist Home for Children

We can share Christ’s love and joy with children in foster and group homes sponsored by Methodist Homes for Children through our Angel Tree Ministry. This year, we will purchase $50 Walmart gift cards for 50 children for a total of $2500. The Missions Committee is asking for your support and generosity. Any amount will be appreciated, but if you donate $50, you’ll enable the purchase of a gift card. If you donate by check, please memo it as “Angel Tree.” If you do so by cash, please insert it into an envelope and label it “Angel Tree.” Contact Cindy Letchworth at 252-327-7050 or http://gmail.com if you have any questions.

Poinsettias

Poinsettias will decorate our worship spaces during Advent. Poinsettias may be purchased in honor or in memory of your loved ones for $10 each. Orders must be completed by December 15. Write “Poinsettia” on the memo line or envelope for cash or check payments and turn it into the church office/red offering box.

All the Good: A Wesleyan Way of Christmas

Pastor Becky will lead an Advent Study on Tuesdays @ 10:00 in the Flexspace in the TCLC.

Advent through the Carols

An Advent Reflection focusing on the meaning of Advent through Carols is being led by Cheryl Stephenson and Edward Jones on Wednesdays @ 10:30am, December 4, 11 & 18 in the Parlor. An online option is available; contact http://jarvis.church
