We are all missing something. We feel it when we work or worship and we find ourselves less than satisfied. The focus of our vision has shifted from driving toward what lies ahead to being captivated by the rearview mirror. When we look back our memories, real or imagined, are of better times. Times when we had more vitality and hope. Times when the communities we were a part of felt vibrant and full of promise. Times of “beginning” when big endeavors and new seasons were in front of us. Times when our experience of God’s grace and goodness tasted so sweet and our motivation for mission seemed effortless.

We need to change and we need renewal. We will never build or become what and who God has called us to on our own. When all our efforts have left us stuck and stagnant what are we asking for? Only when we come to an end of ourselves are we ready to begin our mission with Him again. This journey and work will not succeed based on our own power, but His.

When we feel stuck, we need fresh fire in our souls. We need REVIVAL.

What is revival? It is the Holy Spirit fueled renewal of the spiritual vitality of God’s People initiated by God’s Presence, instructed by God’s Word, resulting in repentance, radical obedience, and enduring faithful mission.

What does the Old Testament Book of Haggai have to do with Revival?

Haggai is a call for God’s people across all time who are desperate to experience revival to repent, receive the Holy Spirit, and renew the work He has called us to in our lives, families, and especially His church.
