The story is told of a business owner who started a fund drive and he wanted 100% participation from his employees in this fund drive. So he launched a campaign to let his employees know about the fund drive. 2 weeks later, he got a call from one of his supervisors and the supervisor told him that one of the employees on the night shift did not plan to participate.

The business owner said, give me his name, and he called him the next day. He asked him if he planned to participate in the fund drive and the employee said, no I don’t think so.

The business owner said, “Well we have a little dilemma here. I want 100% participation in this fund drive yet you don’t want to participate. It therefore seems like we have 2 options here, option one is that you can participate, option 2 is that we can relieve you of your responsibilities and then I will have 100% participation. He said now which would you like to do”?

The employee said, “Well then I will participate”. The business owner said now why is it that you now want to participate, the employee said well nobody every explained it to me like that.

Well today I hope to explain something to you that is vitally important in our lives. That is the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord. Paul writing in Romans said 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Easy explanation -If you want to know the Lord, you must believe and confess these things.

On Wednesday March 27th from 12-1 p.m. we will be hosting a Luncheon at Hazard First Baptist Church, pastor Peter Youmans will be speaking about the glorious resurrection of our Lord. There will be a Good Friday service at Triangle Park on Friday March 29th at 6 p.m. With displays of the Garden of Gethsemane, the Three Crosses, and the empty tomb. Singing, monologues and preaching at each station.
