In “Detach: The Price of Your Device,” we explore Jesus’s words in John 10 and the contrast between the voice of the Good Shepherd and the many competing voices that clamor for our attention. This message invites us to consider not the financial cost of our devices, but the deeper price they may exact on our spiritual lives, relationships, and mental health. Jesus reveals Himself as the Shepherd who knows His sheep, lays down His life for them, and leads them into abundant life—not distraction, anxiety, or isolation. At the same time, we are warned about the thief who subtly steals, kills, and destroys by pulling our hearts and attention away from what truly gives life. Through Scripture, cultural insight, and honest reflection, we are challenged to discern where distraction may be dulling our awareness of God’s voice. This sermon launches our Digital Fast with a hopeful invitation: detach from lesser things so we can more fully experience the life Jesus offers.
