𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗖𝗧

Have a TALENT NIGHT! Ask everyone to prepare to share a talent they have. It can be anything - a music number, bake cookies, a poem or story, or teach your family to dribble a basketball, anything. Give everyone ample time or days’ time to prepare.

Parents, be watchful of how everybody spent their efforts to prepare. Some may prepare elaborately, some may practice for longer periods of time than others, and others may just wing it. You may remind them during the week. Comment on these after everybody has shared their talents.
● How much time did you need to prepare for your presentation?
● Did you give our best?
● Did you hope your audience will enjoy what you did?
● What if no one came to watch you perform? Would you still give your best?

Today, we will learn what diligence means and what the Bible teaches us about it.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗

Let’s read Colossians 3:23-24

23 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵. 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴. 24 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵.

God values work and He wants us to do the same. He wants us to be excellent and give our best in whatever we do. It may be your schoolwork, housework, your job or even the sport you play in. Because God is our master and our Lord, we do everything in a way that honors Him. He is our only audience that we seek to please.

Diligence is giving our best efforts to accomplish the things we need to do. When you work diligently, God sees what you do. It does not matter whether others see or appreciate you because God sees it and it will be rewarded.

Parent to Kid/s:

2-6 years old
● Do you give your best with the things that you do?

7-12 years old
● Do you honor God with the attitude that you have in the things that you do?

Kid/s to Parent:
● How can you honor God even with the smallest tasks?

Do you know that God also worked? He worked when He created the world we live in and up to this day, He is still working in each one of our lives. As He blesses us with gifts and talents, He wants us to give our best effort in doing whatever tasks we need to do. God does not work half-heartedly in our lives and neither should we. Let us practice working diligently in whatever things we do.

Dear God,

Help us to remember that you are our Master. Help us to learn to be diligent so that we will serve heartily in whatever we do. Strengthen us in our work so we may overcome all the difficulties we may face. In Jesus’ name,

𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥

Noah was one of the hardest working characters in the Bible! In fact the ark built for the survival of his family and animals on board was a result of Noah’s hard work and obedience to God. Even though it took a long time for him to finish his work, God rewarded Noah by protecting them from what happened to the world at that time. If Noah had disobeyed God and became lazy instead, something different would’ve happened.
