When Jesus gave His disciples the commission, He didn’t give them a pep talk and try to pump them up. He just told them to go and that He would be with them. That should be enough for us.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

It should be sufficient for us just to know that HE is with us. That is really all that matters. It should be enough to know that the King of the universe is with us! When you approach the task at hand, do you approach with a mindset that you are tackling it alone, or do you find yourself talking to the Lord right there with you? As you start your day today, picture Jesus saying to you, “Let’s roll!” as you head out to tackle the day together. That gives whatever you face today a whole different twist doesn’t it?!!

Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

We have every reason to be bold and courageous as we face our day, for our GOD is with us, not just a good friend, a spouse, a brother or any other mere human. The Creator of the universe is with us, so as we embark on this journey we should be bold not fearful, courageous not intimidated, and encouraged not discouraged.

We should remember, not only that we are not alone, but more importantly who it is that walks with us. For if GOD is for us, what does it matter who is against us?

Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

The only pep talk that we should need as we face our journey each day is the reminder that we do not walk it alone but are accompanied by and empowered by the King of kings and Lord of lords! He has faced everything we will ever face and the Holy Spirit has everything we could ever need to accomplish the commission of being disciples making disciples. If you feel that there is something you are lacking that you need in order to do this calling, then ASK for it! Remember God knows what you need and He will supply ALL your needs. (Now He may know that you don’t really need what you thing you need, but if you truly do need it, He will provide it!) Don’t be guilty of not asking, you don’t have it because you don’t ask for it. If you don’t know what you need the Lord will provide and give you what you need.

Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 7:11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

James 4:2b-3 You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

SO we can walk in confidence because we are not alone, God is with us, and He will provide whatever we need to be obedient in carrying out His directives.

Jesus, thank you that you are always with me. Help me to remember that throughout each day. Renew my mind so that I can think about this whole thing from your perspective. Help me to be strong and courageous remembering that you are with me and that I am carrying out YOUR plan not mine, so I have nothing to worry about even in the hard times and tough situations. Thank you for your perfect love and perfect plan Jesus!
