This Sunday we continue our summer message series entitled, “A Theology of Sacrifice.” Have you ever read the Old Testament and been overwhelmed by all the animal sacrifices, the types of offerings mentioned, and the specific requirements for what animals to bring and ALL THE BLOOD!? It isn’t without purpose.

In this series we hope to introduce the concept of sacrifice that is so prevalent in the Old and New Testament narratives, and bring some meaning to these sacrifices and the implications they have for our lives.

In this Sunday’s Message: “The Concept of Sacrifice & the Death of Jesus Christ - The Biblical Narrative of the Book of Hebrews” Pastor Mark leads in a study of the symbolism, shadows and typology that fills this book of the Bible and how Jesus is the supreme fulfillment of those prophecies. We are taken into the superiority of Christ’s high priesthood, His blood and eternal sacrifice, and how He fulfilled God’s will for our salvation and forgiveness by offering His body as a sacrifice for sinful humanity.

As we have noted each week, this journey into a theology of sacrifice unveils for us the heart of God as He foreshadows through His Word the revelation of a Supreme Sacrifice that was yet to be offered, whom we know to be the person of Jesus Christ, God’s Son. The coming of Christ fulfilled these past symbols and prophecies and His sacrifice effects our salvation in the most incredible ways. Take a listen to this message and find out for yourself.
