Romans 1:16–17

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is

the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also

to the Greek.

OUTLINE

I. The authentic believer, the true believer, knows that the love of family or friends, or even self, should not be greater than their love for Jesus. (Romans 1:16-17)

II. We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because the righteousness of God is revealed through our FAITH in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our faith in the gospel is our FAITH in salvation through the Messiah, which in turn makes us righteous and glorifies God. (Romans 1:16-17; Galatians 3:11; Habakkuk 2:4)

III. We are to worship the Creator and appreciate the creation. (Romans 1:18-23)

IV. The choice of life with Christ, and all that is good, or death and separation from all that is good, is up to each person. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE CHOICE PERSONALLY. (Romans 1:24-32)

We were made in the image of God to glorify God and not ourselves. However, since we chose our own path and fell away from God, it took a perfect sacrifice to save us and make us righteous before a righteous God; this is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
