The Gospels are full of stories of Jesus sharing meals with disciples, friends, and even tax collectors and Pharisees. In one moment he's multiplying bread to feed a whole crowd, next he's relaxing with his inner circle, and then he's telling curious elites stories about even greater banquets. These stories culminate in "the last supper" on the night before his crucifixion; a meal he invites his followers to continue eating long after his resurrection. Join us during the season of Lent, as we explore the rich imagery and symbolism of the table -- and how it speaks to our lives today.

🤔Sermon Reflection: The gospel of Luke uniquely shares the journey to Emmaus, where the resurrected Messiah walked with disciples yet remained elusive until the breaking of bread. This story reminds us that like the road to Emmaus, our own lives can have moments where God feels distant, even absent. It's natural to question God's presence when we don't have a "mountaintop" experience, feeling He doesn't hear or care. But Luke offers a profound lesson: during these times when God and Jesus feel elusive, we are sustained. How do we encounter Him then? By faithfully engaging with scripture, nurturing community, partaking in sacrament, and practicing hospitality. These are the ways Christ becomes known to us, even in the most ordinary of places. How might you intentionally cultivate these practices to better recognize Christ on your own "road to Emmaus"? 🙏🚶‍♂️🍞
