So Rich and So Free

Do you believe in Satan? I don’t even like to use his name so if I have to refer to him, I usually say “the enemy” because that is exactly what he is. He will take anything that God says and turn it upside down, dress it up to look beautiful to us and say “look, isn’t this amazing? You need to have this in your life. You deserve this. OH NO! It’s not bad, it’s good and you deserve it!” “You have worked hard all your life, and this boss hasn’t treated you properly. He hasn’t paid you what you are worth. So, take things from him, Steal money or possessions of his. You deserve it!! It is rightfully yours.” or “you have been married for years, but your spouse isn’t making you happy anymore. She’s too busy with the kids to pay as much attention to you. Just forget about her and find another woman who will pay attention. You deserve it. You work hard for the family, and she is busy making meals, laundry, helping with homework, going to ball games and that’s all after work, but she won’t make time for you. She doesn’t deserve a man who works hard for her. You deserve a better woman”.

John 8: 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Look around us today. Doesn’t it seem like lies are EVERY where? I get so frustrated that I cannot watch TV. The enemy has taken a wonderful thing like marriage and twisted it against God’s will and convinced us that we should love anyone we want including someone of our own sex. We deserve to be with whom we want. He has taken the beautiful child in the womb and said it was fine to kill it because mom deserves a better life that she can have if she doesn’t have that baby weighing her down.

The enemy started in Genesis by lying to Eve about the apple. In Matt. 4:8-9 he tempted Jesus in the wilderness, telling Him he would give him all that He could see if Jesus would just bow down and worship Satan.

Think how long ago all of this took place. Then look around today. It isn’t better. In fact, it is so much worse. So many people buying into his lies. But the Bible said it would be like this in the end times, and it certainly is! It won’t get better before Jesus comes back!

But God is here for us! He is the Father of all that is good. He is the light in the darkness, and you can’t get much darker than the enemy. When all hope was lost because of our sin, God sent His son to save us. God has given us ways out of temptation from the enemy and saves us from our own sin when we repent and give our lives to Him.

Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul, thank you Lord for making me whole, Thank you Lord for giving to me Thy great salvation so rich and free. AMEN
