Pastor Phil normally approaches the study of The Bible verse-by-verse, but The Lord has laid it on his heart to study The Book of Philippians topically.

Today Pastor Phil continues in Philippians, with Part 2 of his message, "Joy in The Lord".

The scriptures tell us that Joy in The Lord can only come by abiding in Jesus. Having daily communion with Him by spending time with Him, praying, clinging to Him, and fixing our hearts, minds and spirit to Him and His Word. This all comes by the correct inward attitude and motive of our heart, which is a deep, obedient heart to love The Lord with all that is in us. Lord help us to hold fast to Him!

The Book of Philippians was written by the Apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome, likely around 61 or 62 AD. It is one of the four 'prison epistles' that Paul penned while in captivity. He counted it a joy to allow God to work everything for his good—even imprisonment. This epistle teaches us the secret of having joy in a less than perfect world.
