Pastor Phil continues in the new series in the Old Testament Book of Psalms on Sunday Mornings here at Calvary Chapel Elk Grove. Today's message comes from Psalm 8 and is entitled, "The Glory of God-Part 2."

We know on this side of The Messiah, that there are two creations. The Original Creation (physical), and The New Creation (the spiritual).

The Lord, in His infinite wisdom—sent down His Son to become a bridge between Himself and man. He chose us! Imagine that—The Creator of heaven and earth, loved us enough to make a way for us to become His children. That should cause anyone who has heard this news firsthand to fall on their faces in gratitude and become a new creation!

The Book of Psalms expresses worship—in fact Psalms translates as ‘a song’. Throughout its many pages, Psalms encourages its readers to praise God for who He is and what He has done.

Psalms serves as a songbook, prayer book, and a guide for understanding God's character and attributes, His faithfulness and help in time of troubles, the nature of faith, and a reminder of the absolute centrality of His Word. We also see innumerable verses that point to Jesus, the Messiah.
