Jesus is a catalyst, model, and ambassador for what was real. I don't mean that Jesus wasn't a big proponent for virtual reality in the first century AD.

However, as we look at Jesus' interaction during his earthly ministry, we see beautiful pictures of authentic love, effective empathy, and perfect understanding leading to conversations and actions bringing about truth in an individual's life.

As we consider reality, it is important to define just what Jesus displayed and taught. Jesus saw past people's perceptions of God, the world, and even himself. He was and is expectation defying.

This message examines a pair of examples in which Jesus cut through pretense and assumption, in love, sharing a message that created space for the reality of our deep dependence on God that could be seen, heard, felt, and experienced.

As this is applied to our attitudes, actions, and responses regarding technology and current cultural norms that reinforce self-promotion, self-satisfaction, and self-fulfillment, we see Jesus serve others by living God's reality in front of people.

He brought perfect dependence on God and modeled it perfectly. He embodied everything it means to be an ambassador of God's reality where it became clear - mankind belongs to God; completely and utterly dependent; made to give God glory by loving Him, abiding with Him, trusting Him, and obeying Him.

In that reality, we become catalysts, models, and ambassadors of God's reality - serving to heal fissures between people created by the brokenness in our lives and world.

As we live in God's reality, we commit to a life of authentic love, empathy, and effort in understanding the 'people behind the posts.

We recognize that no matter the content or context, we have a role to play as genuine followers of Jesus in sharing our lives with others.
