Scripture Reference: Hebrews 12: 1-3 Pastor Burgess

You are running a path that has been completed by so many people who have run this race. Just like a runner, you have run 2c5 miles, and you are tired and may want to stop. We must be a witness that encourages those who are running this race to continue to run the race. The verse tells you that you must let go of something in your life that is becoming a weight hindering you from completing the race. Some athletes realize that there are things they need to do to get the weight down so they can compete. What is the weight that is in your life that’s keeping you from finishing the race?

God is saying that you must get rid of the weight in your life. Everything there is a cost. There is something you must do for the anointing? What are you willing to do to the anointing? This is not a sin, but there is something in your life that you are placing before God. God is saying you must give it up before He does what He wants to do in your life.

You are God for something from God, but you are putting it before God. Wherever you spend your time, that is what you are serving. We say of the days of old. Are we willing to do what they did to be effective? You are only as strong as your prayer life. You have to get to the life where you are praying. You can say whatever you want to say to God on Sunday, but God says I do not see what you say, I watch what you do.

We have become a church that does not pray. We have put a lot of things before God and we are not praying. If Jesus had to pray when He walked the earth, what makes you think you do not have time to pray?

Make an appointment with God and keep it. If you start with 10 minutes a day, that’s 70 minutes more than you have done. Ask yourself, do you have enough time with God? You must throw aside those weights. Your weight may be your time.
