Psalm 120 & 121

Not everyone chooses to be a person of peace. Some believe they can achieve peaceful outcomes through coercive means. The Psalmist urges us to lift our eyes toward God who is our help and protection, the one who holds all things together. He leads us to better alternatives and possibilities.

Shouting and Slumbering

We can plan and strategize all we want, but without the help that God provides, everything crumbles eventually. When we commit our work to the Lord, we discover we have days to shout and celebrate God's help and providence, as well as an ability to get a good night's sleep, knowing God is the one who will carry us along.

Even when the floods of life rush over us, when we cling to God, we find solid ground to weather all of life's storms. Had it not been for God, we would be in trouble. But God has been faithful and will continue to sustain us.
