Peace for the Waiting

The Christmas angels declared that, because of the birth of Jesus, there was now "peace on Earth." How could peace have come 2,000 years ago, with all the wars and plagues and suffering that have happened since? Today we talk about how faith in Jesus Christ brings peace to those who are waiting for the final peace to come.

Peace for the Grieving

The attitudes of Christmas--a season of joy and goodwill and happiness--often fall flat for those in a season of grief. Tinsel and holly provide little comfort, and the Christmas Spirit offers little hope of peace or restoration. The birth of Jesus, however, does provide hope for those in the grip of sorrow and grief, as long as we focus on who Jesus is and what he did. In this sermon we will look at how Jesus brought peace to a family wracked by grief at the death of their brother.

Peace for the Hurting

Today we look at the story of a woman who sought out Jesus to heal her from a decade of bleeding. In the end she found more than healing--she found peace. How can we find peace in a world of hurting, sickness and pain? How can we find peace before the healing comes?

Peace for the Guilty

What does it mean for the guilty to find peace? Does it mean forgetting the sins we have committed, pretending that they never happened? Does it mean forgiving yourself? How can we find hope that our sins will really be undone?
