January 23, 2022 • Andy Adams • Mark 2:13—3:35

Have you ever shared good news with someone, and they took it the wrong way? It’s probable that there was just some level of miscommunication, and that when they truly understand the news you share, they will celebrate with you. The good news Jesus brought was bad news for them. Join us on Sunday so we don’t make the same mistakes and that Jesus’ good news doesn’t become bad news for us.

Good News: Life and Blessing

January 16, 2022 • Andy Adams • Mark 1:16—2:12

God’s desire is to pour out his life-giving blessing on his people and the entire world. And yet there are many things that threaten that life-giving blessing: sickness, death, natural dangers, ignorance, sin, structures of oppression and violence, and spiritual attack. The role of Israel’s King was to protect and save the people from these threats and to be a conduit of God’s blessing to them and the nations. This Sunday at Troy UMC we will continue to explore the Good News of Jesus Christ and witness some specific ways he does battle against those life-stealing threats for our benefit!
