Irish folk melody; arr. Joshua Roberts

March 17, 2024 • TRC Treble Choir

Text: Ancient Irish; tr. Mary Byrne, 1927; versified by Eleanor Hull, 1927

1 Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;

Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art;

Thou my best thought by day or by night,

Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

2 Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;

I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;

Thou my great Father, I Thy true son,

Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

3 Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,

Thou mine inheritance, now and always;

Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,

High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

4 High King of heaven, my victory won,

May I reach Heav’n’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,

still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Domine, non est exaltatum

March 10, 2024 • TRC Youth Choir

Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty, Neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned Of his mother, my soul is even as a weaned child. Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever.

Out of the Depths

Martin Luther, 1524; from Psalm 130. Tr. composite Out of the depths I cry to Thee, O Lord, now hear my calling! Thy gracious ear now turn to me And hear my pleas undying! If Thou iniquities dost mark, Our sins and evils in the dark, Lord, who could stand before Thee?
