WISDOM BY THE WATER

Presented by TRC & Smokin Hoofs Farm

Bring your chair. Bring your questions. Bring yourself.

There is something special about gathering by the water.

For generations, water has been a place of reflection, renewal, healing, and spiritual connection. A place where we have gone to find peace, seek clarity, and sometimes simply lay down what we've been carrying.

Wisdom by the Water is an opportunity for men of different generations to come together in that same spirit.

As the sun begins to set and the fire is lit, we'll gather for an evening of fellowship, honest conversation, and shared wisdom.

Guided by a Bishop Dr. Todd S. Townsend, along with two of our respected elders will share their experiences and perspectives on faith, family, relationships, finances, health, careers, and the lessons that life has taught them along the way.

But this evening is about more than listening to our elders.

It's about creating space for men to ask questions, exchange ideas, share experiences, and recognize that whatever season of life we may be navigating, we do not have to navigate it alone.

We encourage you to come with questions, concerns, or subjects that you would like to explore. There will be an opportunity to Ask an Elder, but the hope is that the conversations will extend beyond the panel and become the beginning of meaningful connections.

Our elders have earned their place of honor through the lives they've lived and the lessons they've learned. In gathering with them, we honor that wisdom while recognizing that every generation brings experiences and perspectives worth sharing.

There is no expectation that everyone speaks. Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give ourselves is simply the opportunity to listen.

Above all, we want this to be a space of comfort, respect, and brotherhood. A place where men can feel safe enough to be themselves, without judgment or the expectation that they have all the answers.

The Evening

October 30, 2026 | 6:00–9:00 PM

Men ages 18 and older are welcome.

We'll provide the chili, cornbread, food, and drinks. You bring your own chair and dress comfortably for an evening outdoors.

We'll begin with food and fellowship, spend some time in conversation with our elders, and leave room at the end of the evening for the conversations and connections to continue.

Bring your chair. Bring your questions. Bring yourself.

Sometimes wisdom comes from the answers we receive. Sometimes it comes from realizing that someone else has been asking the same questions.
