Part 1 - Gethsemane

March 17, 2024 • Chris Matley • Matthew 26:36–56

It could be said that the story of all of creation begins and ends in a garden. Maybe then it is no coincidence that the story of the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus does as well. It is in the Garden of Gethsemane that Jesus Christ is betrayed, arrested and taken away to be killed. It is in the Garden tomb that He is risen from the grave. In this place of death His mission of redemption is first revealed to a woman named Mary of Magdalene. “Go, and tell my brothers” and the first evangelist is on her way with the message of God's love displayed on the cross that changes everyone who believes it. Now, we carry this same life-changing message with us today. Who will we carry the good news of eternal life to as we walk the same path as the first believers? We hope you'll invite friends and join us as we journey through Matthews' account of "The Cross" over the upcoming weeks and on Easter Sunday!

Series verse: ”Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”“ -‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬-
