Pastor Henry Smith

November 24, 2019 • Pastor Henry Smith

Having grown up in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Henry and Ivonne followed a “holy hunch,” and ventured out in April of 2010 to plant a church in Monte Sinai, one of the unreached slums of Guayaquil, Ecuador. The urban slums of the world, is the fastest growing unreached people group on earth, made up in large part of women and children, who are some of the most receptive to the gospel. In an effort to counteract the overwhelming sense of hopelessness, they planted “Un Lugar de Esperanza,” (A place of HOPE).

Today, there is a vibrant church and a partnership to feed over 400 children twice a week. As of August 2019, a second church plant has been launched in Ciudad de Dios, another nearby slum area, feeding another 150 children. It is a testament to His power, love, and sense of humor that he invites us to collaborate with Him.”
