Better Together

Unity in Christ's Church

January 23, 2022 • Alex Wolfe

Young Adults Pastor Alex Wolfe concludes our “Better Together” series with a message about unity within the church. He examines Paul’s letter to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 1-15), when the apostle was writing to a church that had broken into micro-communities that were pro-this, and anti-that. All the “this” and “that” were things that were apart from doctrine. Sound familiar? When we divide over social or political issues and put up walls around the people we choose to spend time with, we’re getting away from unity. When we learn the doctrines of the church and submit to those doctrines, we can keep our eyes fixed on Christ and unify under him. It may mean we have to spend some time in fellowship with people with whom we don’t agree, but those are beautiful opportunities to reap the fruits of the spirit!

Families

January 16, 2022 • Alex Wolfe

Young Adults Pastor Alex Wolfe continues our "Better Together" series with a look at how families are better when they're together. He's addressing three kinds of families in this message – your biological/home family, your church family, and your spiritual family relationship with your heavenly father. Alex says we're better when we're physically present with these families (in most cases). And when we're walking in agreement in the same character system. Our three types of families work better when they're together. And someday, we can experience full, physical togetherness with God as we complete our adoption as sons and daughters of Christ in Heaven. The takeaway? Live your home family life in the midst of your church family life for the sake of your spiritual family life.

God's Dream, Devil's Nightmare

Jim Congdon continues our "Better Together" series with a look at the "Together Places" God has shared with His people throughout the Bible. These were places where people could enjoy fellowship with God here on Earth. From the Garden of Eden (the first Together Place), through the Oak of Moreh (Abram), Mount Sinai (Moses), the tabernacle, and then the temple. Then came a new kind of Together Place – Jesus – God in flesh among us. Now we don't have to seek out a place to have together time with God! It's inside us as when we believe in His son, Jesus.
