Connor Kraus wraps up our Deuteronomy series with a look at the end of Moses' life. We get a glimpse into the unique and spiritually intimate relationship between God and Moses. Despite Moses' status, we learn that even he had to endure the consequences of his sin and only peer over, rather than enter into, the Promised Land. And Connor challenges us with the notion that our reaction to this scene says much about our faith.
The Song of Moses
May 19, 2024 • Jim Congdon • Deuteronomy
Songs communicate with us at a deep level, so it’s no surprise that God inspired Moses to include one at the very end of Deuteronomy. This week, Pastor Jim walks us through the famous Song of Moses, which some have called the Israelites’ national anthem. He discusses the song’s structure, its poetry, and what it teaches us about God’s plan to redeem the world.
When the Israelites entered the promised land, they were thrown into the middle of an ancient war. Today, we continue fighting that same war. In this week’s sermon, Pastor Connor looks at the battle instructions God provided to his people in Deuteronomy, as well as how those instructions apply to our toughest battles today. (Spoiler alert: Our side has already won!)
