Healing Shame

Guided Meditation to cultivate emotional wellness

Rev. Aaron Bjerke • Jeremiah 31:3, Psalm 34:4

Welcome to The Well’s Emotionally Healthy Soul meditations to cultivate emotional wellness.

In today’s meditation, we will focus on feelings of shame.

Shame is a universal emotion. It’s often described as an intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed or unworthy of love and belonging because of something we’ve experienced, done, or failed to do.  These internalized beliefs can trigger our fear response (fight/flight/or freeze). Shame causes us to go into a mode of self-protection, leading to secrecy and darkness. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as we begin to run from the connection we crave.

As we begin this meditation, let's journey together to move deeper into the healing presence of the Divine. In doing so, we invite God's love to touch the deepest parts of our being, helping to heal the wounds of shame and restoring a sense of connection and worthiness.
