Staying Human in a Time of Outrage

Making space for exhaustion, anger, and the search for a way forward

Registration is full

We are living in a moment marked by constant intensity. Outrage moves fast. Conversations escalate quickly. Many people feel worn down, more guarded, or more reactive than they want to be, often without realizing how much this cultural climate is shaping them.

This Living Room conversation is a space to name that reality honestly. Not to fix it. Not to debate it. But to acknowledge what this moment is doing to us emotionally, relationally, and internally.

Together, we’ll explore how chronic exposure to outrage and conflict affects the nervous system, perception, and our capacity for curiosity and connection. Drawing from neuroscience, psychology, and spiritual wisdom, we’ll reflect on why so many people feel exhausted, hardened, or hopeless, and what helps us stay open and grounded in the midst of it.

This evening is less about answers and more about presence. It’s a space to feel what you’re feeling alongside others, to listen without needing the right take, and to begin imagining what a more humane way forward might look like in daily life, relationships, and how we engage the world around us.

The Living Room is a monthly gathering for curious, thoughtful people who want to explore culturally relevant topics in a way that feels spacious and human.

The conversation will be guided by a facilitator, not as a debate, but as a shared exploration with room for curiosity, listening, and reflection.

Wine, seltzer, and snacks are included.

Whether you come feeling angry, tired, uncertain, hopeful, or somewhere in between, you are welcome to come as you are and take part in a night of honest conversation and shared humanity.
