The Reason To Pray

November 14, 2021 • Lee Peoples • John 17:1–5

God invented prayer, but why do you pray? When you pray do you ask God to glorify you instead of Him?

Prayer was designed to ask God to meet our needs for His glory. When we pray, we should pray to celebrate God's goodness, majesty and splendor. Our prayer should not only be for God's blessing in our life, but also so that those blessings that He so freely gives us, demonstrate to others the glory of God in our lives.

So, when you pray, pray for that job, that circumstance, that widget, but also pray that God will use that job, that circumstance, that widget to glorify Him. That's why we pray.
