Luke 24:1-12

April 12, 2020 • Pastor Jim Thomas • Luke 24:1–12

While the church building remains closed, God is still in the business of building His church. And God often does things in ways we would never have imagined. From my perspective, God has been turning our isolation into a transformation. Some have asked “How can you even talk about Easter when everything in the world is turned upside down, inside out, when so many are suffering, even dying, and there is so much fear, anxiety, and despair???? We say, that’s precisely WHY we need to talk about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are praying God will carry us through survival and to revival. Join Pastor Jim for this hope-filled message from Luke 24.

Palm Sunday 2020

That first Palm Sunday when Jesus rode into Jerusalem He was illustrating the fact that He was taking the initiative to offer Himself as the perfect Lamb of God, to pay the price for our sin, and to purchase our salvation. One thousand years before the time of Christ, King David sang of God’s salvation in what were unquestionably dark and uncertain times. How do these ancient scriptures speak hope into our own era? Join Pastor Jim as he takes a look at the good news of God’s salvation, on offer through faith in Christ.

Together, these offer reassurance and hope for all believers living in tumultuous times when pain and suffering seem to have shaken everything we thought we could count on. Here we find our sure and steady anchor, Christ our hope, in life and in death.

The Bible tells of several different kinds of storms that build faith. There are storms of correction and storms of perfection. There was a storm in the life of the disciples of Jesus that was a defining moment in their faith. This storm moved them into a whole new understanding of who Jesus was. It caused them to recognize Jesus was the Son of God and compelled them to worship Him. Join Pastor Jim as he unpacks helpful insights from this exciting passage in Matthew’s Gospel.
