The Temptation of Christ

The Gospel According to Luke - Luke 4:1-13

The Village Chapel - 09/01/2024

We’ve all felt it’s powerful tug from time to time… but just what is temptation and where does it come from? Is being tempted to sin the same thing as committing a sin?

Why do you think God even allows temptation? And is resistance futile? Or, do we have some tools and some truths we can count on that will help us resist temptation?

In Luke 4:1-13 we read about the temptation of Jesus out in the desert-like wilderness of Judea and it gets recorded in all 3 synoptic Gospel records in the NT. What was so important about the temptation of Christ? And what does the temptation of Christ mean for those of us who are believers and followers of Jesus?

For answers to these and other questions, let's study Luke 4:1-13 together!

The Village Chapel exists to glorify God through the teaching of His word, through heartfelt worship, and by connecting people with opportunities to live lives of real significance, serving God and their neighbors as a local community of faith.
