Assyria, Philistia, Moab Part 3

Isaiah 14:24-16:5

June 18, 2024 • Pastor Ken Brown • Isaiah 14:24—16:5

There seems to be injustice and corruption pressing from every side these days. Do you long to see God's righteousness and justice come to Earth? What a day that will be! In his message today, Pastor Ken reminds you of God's promise to put Jesus on David's throne to rule justly. God's love demands justice. He wouldn't be loving if He didn't rule rightly. It’s hard to imagine, but one day Jesus will bring justice to His enemies. Never forget that God is still in control, and He will have His way on Earth.

There will always be those who claim to be sovereign or who pretend to be gods. In today’s message, Pastor Ken reminds us of the Egyptians, who had many gods, and learned through trials, that Yahweh was the one true God. God was referred to as the “cloud rider.” When confronted by Caiaphas, Jesus said that he was the “cloud rider.” Caiaphas would have known that was a reference to the one true God. Those who worship false gods will be destroyed, but God preserves those who worship Him.

God will eventually destroy His enemies. In today’s message, Pastor Ken shares the battle of Judah against the Syrians. In one night, the Angel of the Lord conquered Syria and preserved His people. In the same way, God will send Christ to end the battle of the Beasts’ armies against Israel in the end times. Overnight, the Angel of the Lord will surround the nation and give a death blow to God’s enemies. Just as Yahweh protected Judah from the Syrians, there will be complete destruction of God’s enemies.

In many of the Old Testament books, the word "rivers" refers to armies. Today, Pastor Ken explains this idiom and how it is used in prophetic history. He cites several references to these armies or rivers to demonstrate how Gentile nations have positioned themselves against the nation of Israel. These armies are powerful, and cruel and seek to conquer and destroy Israel. They were real in Biblical times and are also prophetic of the end times. We are warned to be vigilant of their presence and danger.
