God Has Much More

2 Kings 4 begins with a woman who was married to one of the sons of the prophets. She was in a conundrum, dealing with the death of her husband. The problem was that her husband died owing money. His creditors were after her for the balance, they were going to make her two sons slaves until the debt was paid. She had less than she needed, so she went to Elisha for help. After a few inquiries, Elisha offered her a plan, which as it turns out not only met her need but supplied her family for the future. God took her less and made it more. God is able to do the same for each of us. We are Saint Paul’s Everywhere! Amaziah was a young leader given a significant leadership opportunity. He started off in the right direction, although his reign ended later in chaos. The struggle of his early administration endured throughout his career—would be trust what God provides or follow what people prescribed? What God provides is not just enough, but much more than enough. The challenge is—do we believe it? Will we trust it? God always has much more. We are Saint Paul’s Everywhere! God Can Do More

Culture tells us we are strong and that we can do anything. But at some point, we all come to terms with the limits of life. We encounter limits in our circumstances, our bodies, our intellect, our finances, and our entire beings. Whether its depression, physical suffering, job demands or even general busyness—life limits us. However, the incredible news of scripture is that although we are limited, God is NOT, and God is able to do amazing things with us, in us, through us, and for us as we partner with God.
