Walk It Out

Part 2

September 26, 2021 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Genesis 5:21–24

Scriptures have limited commentary on a man named Enoch. Most of the details of his life are found in Genesis 5:18-24. For those of us who feel like life is ordinary and mundane, Enoch serves as an example. This is what we know about Enoch: he walked faithfully with God for 365 years, and then he was no more, because God took him away. Often when we think about the larger than life, heroes of faith. However, Enoch gives us a deeper insight into what a great life with great faith looks like—it’s just walking with God.

Do This

November 14, 2021 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Joshua 6:1–5

Facing obstacles is a common part of all progress. It’s not if we will face obstacles, it’s when and how that really matter. At Jericho, the people of God had to decide whether they would continue the journey to where God had promised or stop where they were. Would they move forward despite the obstacles, or would they once again retreat into safety? Each of us will arrive at this same intersection. God has not placed us on the planet without purpose; God has a divine design for each of us. Yet as we follow God, difficulties will confront us. The example of Joshua teaches us how to overcome the obstacles that would paralyze us and make progress by the grace of God. We are Saint Paul’s Everywhere! Discoveries In The Desert

November 7, 2021 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Exodus 3:1

Moses spent 40 years in Egypt thinking he was somebody, another 40 years in the desert realizing he was nobody, and his final 40 years leading everybody because He had discovered the One who could use anybody. To prepare him for his destiny, he had to trust the process, and matriculate in God’s University of the Desert. Are you in the desert? There are discoveries there waiting to be discerned. She Saw Something In Me

October 31, 2021 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Exodus 2, Hebrews 11:23

The word Exodus comes from a Greek word that literally means “the road out.” An exodus is a “going out, a departure.” That defines the substance of much of our spiritual journey—it’s about being moved out from one place and into a new one. All spiritual growth has something to do with leaving something behind. It’s about being saved from something, for something. God providentially positions people to aid us along the way. Today, we meet a woman named Jocobeth, a new mother in a situation of crisis. Despite the chaos around her, she saw something special in her new child that moved her out of despair into a perilous posture of hope.
