Simon was a fisherman by trade on the Sea of Galilee. Being a fisherman in that region means he made better than average money. Most of the surrounding area was agrarian, with wheat and grains being the staple food, and fish being the main source of protein. So, as a fisherman, there was always a demand for his product. Still, it was a tough business – and expensive especially if you failed to catch fish! What do you do with failure? That’s our focus today.
