Keep Believing

Part 3

March 20, 2022 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Mark 5:35–36

Jesus’ life, along with his death, grants life-changing healing. It is a healing authority that crosses boundaries, both of ethnicity and gender. Jesus chooses not to leave people in the conditions in which he finds them, and he has the power to alter that condition. Do we? Can the Christian community alter the conditions of people’s lives? Can we bring healing into troubled circumstances? Must we not also cross boundaries—whether they are related to ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation, politics, or any other boundaries that divide our society—and advocate lifegiving meaning and change? Are we continuing to believe in the transformative power of Christ, or have we secretly given up?

Keep Remembering

April 10, 2022 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Mark 14:3–9

Acts of love are worth remembering—that’s the point of this passage. The woman on center stage worships Christ in love, using expensive perfume to express her gratitude and devotion. As we consider the depth of love God has for us, we are challenged to do the same in our worship and service. Keep remembering what God has done for you, and let it impact what and how you do what you do for God. We are Saint Paul’s Everywhere! Keep Serving

April 3, 2022 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Mark 10:35–45

Dr. Marian Wright Edelman said, “Service is the rent we pay for living.” In this text, Jesus teaches that the way up is first down, that the path to greatness is the path to service. In a world that values “being served,” we are called to offer ourselves in the image of our Redeemer, as servants to the entire world. Serve up! We are Saint Paul’s Everywhere! Keep Going

March 27, 2022 • Dr. Lance D. Watson • Mark 6:1–13

Being rejected by those we hoped would receive us is enough to stop anybody in their tracks. However, Jesus shows us how to manage rejection and keep going in pursuit of our God assigned destiny. His example shouts in essence, “Can’t stop, won’t stop!” Keep going! We are Saint Paul’s Everywhere!
