Don't Miss Your Chance

Part 8

February 21, 2021 • Dr. Lance D. Watson

Jonah’s sermon is the shortest sermon in sacred history with tremendous results. This demonstrates that long before Jonah was swallowed by a fish, long before Jonah fled Jerusalem, and even long before God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, the Spirit of God had already been at work in the hearts and minds of the people of Nineveh. The fact is, unless God first sends the Holy Spirit to us, we all remain lost. The good news of this passage is God sends what’s needed to both the proclaimer and the people because God wants to save both.

Scripture: Jonah 3 (NLT)

Cultivating Self-Control

If we could predict the future, do you think we would change our daily habits? Do you think we would invest in different things? If we could see the future results of our present efforts, we’d make far better decisions. This is no secret—God wants you to become all God created you to be. However, to become all that God created us to be, we have to make some choices and decisions to participate with God in the process. Your Future Self will thank you. Scripture: Proverbs 16:32 (NLT)
