EMPOWERED to GOODNESS

August 11, 2021 • Michael Fitzgerald

How do you know if you are good?
Are you really good?

Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Discussion

What is goodness? Worldly definition? God’s Definition?
Read Ecclesiastes 7:20. Do you think you are good on your own? Be honest.
What does a life full of goodness, or living right, look like? When is it hardest for you to do good?
Read 1 Peter 2:9. We are not good on our own, but we can extend God’s goodness to others around us by the good things we do through the Spirit. How are you showing God’s Goodness to point others to Jesus? If not, how may you be quenching the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life?
