EMPOWERED to PEACE

July 7, 2021 • Michael Fitzgerald

Peace, man.

Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

When God’s follower reflects His joy, the trials and hardships of this world don’t rock their faith. They trust God and reflect true contentment and satisfaction in Christ because Jesus alone is everything they need.

Discussion
What is peace?

Where does peace come from? Read Colossians 3:15 and John 14:27

Read Philippians 4:6-7
What do you worry about? Are you anxious about?
How can you counteract these thoughts?

Have you ever felt peace through trials?
How did you navigate dealing with that situation?
Now think when you have struggled through difficult times, What/who did you seek in those situations? (Think worldly vs. Godly for both questions)
