Truth or Acceptance?

Will you bow to peer pressure for acceptance if it mean you compromise the TRUTH?

May 16, 2018 • Brian Motte

OVERVIEW Every single day we are faced with the decision whether we will do something so that we are accepted by the group. Maybe it is to tell a white lie or to partake in some sin that we know is wrong but we do it so that we won’t feel like the outsider. But what does Jesus call us to do in our lives? DISCUSSION: -Do you feel pressure from the world to be accepting of things you know are against the Word of God? Give some examples. -What things in your life do you do to try and be accepted? -i.e. listen to certain music, swearing, dress a certain way, watch certain things, etc. -What are the positives of trying to appease people? And the negatives? -Why do you think it’s so hard for us to live our lives to please God and not man? -What are some ways we can get better at living our lives for God and not others?

Family Worship Night: Living Sacrifice

November 14, 2019 • Brian Motte

If we are to be a True Disciple then we are going to be a Living Sacrifice or someone who gives up their own desires to live their life to serve Jesus. That means when someone makes us mad, angry or bitter, we do what the Word of God says and we forgive and restore the relationship. We lay our evil desires on the altar and live our lives like Jesus would live. And when we do this and we love the unlovable just like Jesus did for us, we become a True disciple who is shining the True light into the darkness to save lost souls from eternity in Hell. This week spend time reading the Word of God (found in our read plan portion of the app) and praying about what putting others needs before your own looks like in your life. Give thanks to God

November 21, 2019 • Brian Motte

Jesus was born in the flesh to die for us to set us free from the bondage of our sin. In other words, Jesus died so that we don’t have to. That deserves such praise and worship from us, but he doesn’t just stop there. He continues to bless us throughout our lives and gives us a rich and satisfying life. What can you and your family thank God for this thanksgiving season? This week spend time reading the Word of God (found in our read plan portion of the app) and praying about what putting others needs before your own looks like in your life.
