Abide: In This is Love

1 John 4:7-12

April 18, 2023 • Erin Morris

God is the very essence of love. It is part of His nature to love, and every action He takes proceeds from a motive of love. Because God loved us, He sent His only Son to be the sacrifice for our sins so that we might have eternal life. What does it look like to love like Christ did? How can we love those that are difficult to love? Join us for session thirteen as we examine the vastness of God's love and our obligation as believers to love in return.

Discussion Questions:

1. How does God’s love differ from the world’s love? What is the extent of His love?

2. Love is an action. How does love act? What things does love not do? (See 1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

3. To whom did God extend love? If we are to emulate Him, who are we called to love?

4. How well do you walk in love toward those close to you, toward strangers, and even your enemies?  How can we walk in love even when we don’t feel loving?

5. Why should we care to love as Christ loved us?
