Family Worship Night: Living Sacrifice

November 14, 2019

If we are to be a True Disciple then we are going to be a Living Sacrifice or someone who gives up their own desires to live their life to serve Jesus. That means when someone makes us mad, angry or bitter, we do what the Word of God says and we forgive and restore the relationship. We lay our evil desires on the altar and live our lives like Jesus would live. And when we do this and we love the unlovable just like Jesus did for us, we become a True disciple who is shining the True light into the darkness to save lost souls from eternity in Hell.

This week spend time reading the Word of God (found in our read plan portion of the app) and praying about what putting others needs before your own looks like in your life.

NovW2 - Forgive & Restore

November 7, 2019

Our friends and family are sinners, just like you and me. We all make mistakes, we all get selfish, we all hurt people we love; but the way we react after that hurt happens shows whether we are a True Disciple or not. We see in many of the things we have been reading so far that we are to put others needs before our own, turn the other cheek, pray for and love our enemies and ultimately forgive those who have wronged us just like Jesus did when we sinned against him and when our sin put him on the cross to die for us. This week spend time reading the Word of God (found in our read plan portion of the app) and praying about what putting others needs before your own looks like in your life. NovW1 - Confront sin & repent when sinning

October 24, 2019

For the past few weeks we have looked at what the Word of God has to say about when someone makes us angry or causes us to have bitterness in our heart. We have seen that we need to have forgiveness towards the person, but it’s now time to go one step further. There is also the need to restore that relationship. That happens through confrontation and repentance. This is tricky because it must be done in a righteous way and not a judgmental way with a restored relationship (between the two of you and with each of you and Jesus) always as the goal. This week spend time reading the Word of God (found in our read plan portion of the app) and praying about what putting others needs before your own looks like in your life.
