Fuel By Pastor Doug Lasit Church Series Review 1. Galaxies and Governments: The Church Is Not Peripheral to the World, the World Is Peripheral to the Church. 2. Fitted: Know God, Discover Purpose, Build Community, Live Generously. 3. The Crowd: Find Your People, Change the World. 4. Fuel: What You Need When You Need It. Jesus gives us the fuel we need to face every challenge, accomplish the plans He has for us, and to selflessly and generously serve others according to His will. 2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Definition: The word power is the word dynamin. It is used 120 times in the New Testament, and it means power or fuel. It is where we get the word dynamite. Fuel for Life: Humanity – The Power of His Resurrection Philippians 3:10 “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection…” The Person – The Power to Restore, Renew and Refresh Mark 5:30 “At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” The Church - The Power of God in the Great Commission Ephesians 3:20 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.”

Enthroned Psalm 22:3 “Yet You are holy, O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel.” Yo-Shev (enthroned) means to be enthroned inside of something. A verb indicating that a person is actively taking the throne as in a ceremony to mark the beginning of their rule. Hebrews 10:25 “…not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…” Psalm 22:3 “Yet You are holy, O You who are enthroned upon the praises of Israel.”

Fitted The Foundation Stone Matthew 16:18 “Upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it.” The Cornerstone Acts 4:11 “Jesus is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.” The Living Stone 1 Peter 2:4-5 “As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.” The Fitted Stone Ephesians 2:20-22 “20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” Four Core Values – Jesus is the Cornerstone. In our church, the next four stone in the wall are: 1. Know God – Knowing God is the Cornerstone of our existence, the first commitment of every believer. 2. Discover Purpose – Our purpose is people, and reaching them with the love of Jesus. 3. Live Generously – Generosity is the most power principle in scripture, and the result of God giving us His son. 4. Build Community – Community recognizes that God never created people to exist alone.

Church. from Galaxies to Governments Matthew 16:18-19 The Message 18 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades, will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” The Word “Church" in the New Testament Never Refers to a Building and Always Refers to People, Either Globally or Locally. Ephesians 1:20-23 The Message “All this energy issues from Christ: God raised Him from death and set Him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from His rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which He speaks and acts, by which He fills everything with His presence.” The World Revolves Around the Activity of the Church. Ephesians 1:22 NIV 22 “And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.” God Gave Jesus Authority Over All Things for the Church.
