Jesus spent a good deal of his time arguing back and forth with the Pharisees, who believed deeply they were leading God’s people well. His ministry to the Pharisees was often to say, you have distorted the heart of the scriptures and misunderstood the heart of God. Today we dive into the idea of Sabbath and how it relates our Lenten journey and frames up faithful presence for a Christ Follower. More than any other Gospel Mark draws our attention to the repression of women in Children in the culture of the Pharisees and and the Herodians. Today we are going to look at three stories from the Gospel according to Mark and ask our panel how what each story says about God, what each story says about us, and how we can live in grateful response.
