When I say worship, what is the first thing that comes to mind?
For a lot of people when I say “worship”, what comes to mind is "Sunday". That's the day we go to worship or when the worship service happens. Some people think more specifically music, such as worship or church music. Otherwise known as the worship music that we sing to God.
But, what I want to do today, is I want to expand our concept of what worship really is. As we open up the Scripture, I want us to see what God says about worship.
The Scripture says that worship isn’t limited to just one segment of people. It’s not just the people that attend on Sunday morning, or the ones with the worship playlist. All of us were created to worship. It’s woven into the fabric of everyone God created. You and I were made to worship. We are all like mirrors and we are going to reflect praise. We are worshippers.
And as we look the early church today, we’ll see that worship starts in the heart. And the heart of worship is all about Jesus.
